If you place a corpse beneath the earth,
the next night it will be
nearly invisible,
as if the Realm has consumed it

If you tuck your fear of Loss under your tongue too long,
without speaking it,
over the nights it will be
nearly unpalatable,
as if you have eaten of it and become tainted

That unspoken, sucked-in breath of air,
hiding everywhere beneath your words,
that is the Master you create for yourself.

No one sees the demon that rules you,
but abuse you It does, unto this very night.
